Your units will be agreed upon with your lecturer during your first lesson and these will be assessed by a variety of methods that include assignments, reports and research projects which need to come from your workplace.

• GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent). You will be required to provide a copy of your certificates or proof that you have completed the required courses at your interview.
•  A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering. It is recommended that you hold this qualification at a Merit grade due to the complex level of maths that is involved.
• A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• Other related level 3 qualifications
•  An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
•  Related work experience
•  An international equivalent of the above.

You will be required to attend an interview with a member of the faculty staff and to complete a maths assessment before being accepted onto the course which will be discussed during the interview.

All applicants must attempt the entry test (mathtutor.ac.uk & mathcentre.ac.uk will support this), you are expected to be at a certain level of maths before starting the course as you will be studying it at degree level.

_You will be assessed by producing evidence that meets the outcomes of each unit usually through the form of assessments.

_The assessment is continuous and includes projects and presentations together with any work-related projects that may meet the requirements. It is likely that the evidence provided will include and involve real work-based projects from your employer.

_Class work will include group work, discussions and formative assessments.

The successful completion of this course provides you with the progression to further higher education programmes such as an HND or a degree.
