Course Overview
This work-based qualification is aimed at learners in a management or deputy role in a residential childcare placement.
The NCFE qualification is tailored to suit the learner and employer by choosing the most relevant optional units, in addition to the mandatory required units which gives learners the opportunity to:- Develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the learner's job role
- Develop their personal growth and engagement in learning through the development of individual, learning and thinking skills
- Have existing skills recognised
- Achieve a nationally recognised Level 5 qualification.
Course Content
The qualification is tailored to suit the learner and employer by choosing the most relevant optional units, in addition to the required mandatory units.
Entry Requirement
- You need to be in a deputy or manager's role in a suitable childcare setting.
- GSCE English or maths at grade C/4 or above is required or the equivalent.
Assessment
This diploma is delivered in the workplace using a variety of assessment methods used throughout the course. Methods include workplace observations, witness testimonies, professional discussion, oral and written questions and work product evidence.
Where does this course lead to
You can progress to completing a relevant level 6 management qualification or degree in childcare.
