At Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) our top priority is ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for everyone. We achieve this through a comprehensive framework of policies, support systems, and proactive measures. Our campus is secured with controlled access and CCTV, and all students are required to wear ID badges.
Our Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies are designed to protect all members of our community. We provide easy-to-use support systems, including the "Speak Up" button, a confidential way to report inappropriate behaviour or concerns, and "The Haven," a dedicated physical space where students can speak with a staff member.
We have clear procedures for managing critical incidents, such as fires or health emergencies, and we proactively educate students on health and safety practices. Our goal is to not only protect our students with effective measures but also to empower you with the knowledge to respond to potential risks.
Responding to Sexual Misconduct
For specific incidents, we have dedicated policies and procedures in place to provide detailed support and guidance. A key part of our commitment to student safety is our Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedure. This ensures that all instances of sexual misconduct and harassment are addressed with the seriousness and care they deserve, and it provides a clear pathway for reporting incidents and receiving support. This reporting option allows students to report anonymously or by providing full details. Please refer to the policy below for the many other reporting options.
