Outstanding leadership and dedication to education recognised
Principal Awarded OBE for services in Further Education in New Year's Honours List.
The Basingstoke community is celebrating news that Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) Principal, Anthony Bravo, has been awarded an OBE in the King's New Year's Honours List for 2024. This prestigious recognition comes in acknowledgment of his exceptional contributions to education and the local community.
Anthony Bravo has served as Principal of BCoT for over 15 years, during which time he has overseen a period of remarkable growth and success for the College, focusing on partnership, community, income generation and workforce development. Under his visionary leadership, BCoT has:
• Developed a thriving and inclusive learning environment that champions diversity and empowers all students to reach their full potential, evidenced in the College's latest Ofsted rating of outstanding for personal development, attitudes and behaviours and adult learning programmes.
• Introduced innovative and industry-relevant courses and programs that equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the modern workforce.
• Forged strong partnerships with local businesses and organisations, creating valuable work experience opportunities for students and contributing to the economic development of the region.
• Embraced the evolving technological landscape, not only integrating industry-relevant technology into curricula but also exploring the potential of AI to personalise learning and enhance student success.
